Computer Literacy
Jefferson - CSIS 1020
Spring 2017
Course reflection:
In the course Computer Literacy, we explored the basics of computers and their operation systems, including parts of a computer, storage, internet connection, and the ways these connect us to our modern tech world.
We focused on the three main Microsoft Office programs that are used in most careers- Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint, and Microsoft Excel.
Microsoft Word is a word processing program that is for more than just typing essays. We learned how to format all kinds of fonts and tables and how to organize information in a newsletter. We also learned how to combine documents to create mailing lists.
In Microsoft Powerpoint, we learned how to create in-depth presentations with many features to interest our audiences including audio clips, video clips, transitions, photo effects, and animations on-screen.
In Microsoft Excel, we learned all about spreadsheets and using it to our advantage. In the tutorials, we learned how to insert formulas and apply them to numbers and data across several spreadsheets. We learned how to correlate information from sheet to sheet and from table to table.
Overall, this class was very informative and necessary for all college students. These programs will be a part of our careers and learning how to operate them properly and use the functions available will be beneficial to our future.
